Student Art Show in the Press!

We are happy to report that the 5th Annual Health Sciences Students Art Show made it onto p. 7 of Wisconsin Week! The Opening of “Corpus Callosum” drew a record number of artists, family and friends who enjoyed the artwork created by students in the Schools of Veterinary Medicine, Medicine & Public Health, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Pharmacy. There were countless remarks about the sophistication of the works as a whole and the fact that these students, busy with graduate health sciences work, had carved time out of their schedules to create, mat, frame and transport these evocative pieces. Fellow classmates seemed the most taken with the artists. “I didn’t even know she painted!” was overheard as well as, “His photos should be in a magazine, don’t you think?” and “Seriously, you draw?!” The show’s curator, librarian Micaela Sullivan-Fowler, would like to thank Sarah Grimes who installed the 80+ pieces, Ebling’s Director, Julie Schneider for support of this endeavor and all the artists- who went to enormous effort to share their artwork. Remember, many of the pieces are available for purchase and the show closes May 1st, 2011. Come see the exhibit of which one viewer said, “It’s just not fair, not only are these students accomplished academically, but they can paint too!”
