Vote for the Memmy’s

A recipe for success: take one creative medical student, Mario Ademaj; a professor with a great sense of humor, Gary Lyons; filming & editing by Wes Fox; add fellow students with a wee bit of time on their hands and you have the UWSMPH Class of 2016 medical students’ submission to the Memmy’s! (Medical School Emmy’s)

They submitted the music video, “Can’t Hold Us” to the University of South Carolina’s Memmy’s competition.

Watch the video and “like” it… The video might win a prize for the Health Sciences Library (Ebling!)

Mario and classmates, DeMarco Bowen, Olga Diaz, Jennifer Mann, Jacquelyn Swietlik, Benjamin Steyer, Vuong Vu, Daniel Miller, Thomas Hanzlik, Ritika Batajoo and Ermal Bojdani produced the music video to celebrate the fact that they are medical students at UW-Madison and to showcase the HSLC (and Ebling Library). They even badgered (!) Associate Dean for Students, Pat McBride to make an appearance.

Judging and Prizes

Four of the top five videos will be selected by media specialists and senior medical students at the University of South Carolina based on originality, production value, content and talent.

The fifth top video will be selected based on popular voting on YouTube, with the greatest number of “likes.” All schools are expected to follow the high ethical standards of our profession in this competition and limit votes to one per person. For more information, here’s the Memmy’s page.

The winners will receive a monetary award given to their school’s health sciences library. (That’s Ebling, so vote!)
