Boy throwing Comparison of 2 boys
Caption: Which one of these two boys do you think
will grow up to be a more useful citizen?

Here is another example of behavioral or character habits . The caption clearly defines the desire for "useful" American citizens.

A boy without direction or purpose is going to participate in behavior that is considered delinquent or "unhealthy." Participating in activities that help the community in general is "healthy living." The image on the right shows a teenager in a military-type outfit, which could represent the need for upstanding young men of good character at home. This image also could be a subtle message for the positive influence of the Boy Scout of America.
