Opera Quae Extant Omnia
Guilhelmus Fabricus Hildanus
1646

Last in the series is the aptly titled “the end of medicine,” which highlights the physician from the first
panel meeting with a man who is presumably a former
patient, now fully recovered and extending his hat to the doctor in a greeting. In the background, the theme of health and wellness is emphasized by scenes of daily
life - children walking with their mother, men greeting one another, a dog playing, people returning from the
fields. The well-being of the patient is primary, a theme echoed by Fabricus.
