Precepting  Nursing Students - Continuing Education Courses, School of Nursing, University of Wisconsin-Madison

        A series of web-delivered continuing education courses for nurse preceptors has been designed to assist nurses who work in community/public health as well as those who work in acute/primary/long-term care settings to develop knowledge and skills for working effectively as preceptors for undergraduate nursing students. Learning modules include topics as role of preceptor, helping students learn clinical knowledge and expertise, learning styles and teaching strategies, interdisciplinary practice, cultural competence, critical thinking skills, and feedback and evaluation. Successful completion of the quiz following each module earns ANCC contact hours.

Courses are complimentary for preceptors of UW-Madison nursing students.
