Outreach@Ebling - Whom We Serve?
While the definition of “outreach” varies, at Ebling Library we define our outreach populations as those beyond the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. “Campus” is used in the broadest sense, including off-site clinics, departments, and offices affiliated with UW-Madison, its students and its employees.
The Ebling Library Outreach program strives to meet the health information needs of groups and individuals NOT affiliated with the UW-Madison campus community.
In the true spirit of the Wisconsin Idea, we extend the resources and services of the Ebling Library beyond campus to the state of Wisconsin. Examples of these populations include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- UW-Madison Alumni
- Librarians
- Hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Health professionals
- Health organizations
- Educators
- Schools, colleges, universities
- Community groups
- Professional organizations
- Special interest groups
- General public
- Outreach programs and initiative
- Former UW-Madison employees without a valid campus ID
Who is affiliated? Who is not affiliated?
If you do not have and are not eligible for a UW-Madison campus ID, then you will be considered a member of the outreach user group. Affiliated groups include current employees (this includes zero-dollar appointments) and students of UW-Madison campus and its outlying offices.
