TiVo Content

If you have a broadband enabled TiVo box (Series 3, HD or HD XL) you can access web-based video content by choosing "Video on Demand" from the main menu, then choosing "Browse Web Videos", then picking a category. TiVO Desktop Plus gives you a wider variety of content. You can also use your TiVo to subscribe to other audio and video feeds if you have the URL (only certain video formats are supported).

How Do I Find & Subscribe to RSS Feeds?

More Ways to Find Feeds

If you are using Google Reader, don't overlook the Discover and Search for Feeds area where you wil find suggestions for other things you may be interested in.

Look for a graphic like this imagerss on the web page (it may also appear in the address bar and sometimes other graphics are used; here's a few more you may come across).

Click on the image to subscribe. What happens next depends on what browser you are using:

Firefox Safari, Opera, Chrome and other modern browsers: Choose your reader from the list, click ok and you aresubscribed to the feed.

Internet Explorer: We do not recommend using Internet Explorer as you will need to copy and paste the link to the feed to manually add it to your feed reader.

Once you've started using feeds you may find you want them to do a little more work for you. Feed readers like Google Reader have many features built in, but if you need something beyond that try these:

FeedRinse: combine and filter feeds, then export them for yourself or others to use

Yahoo Pipes: do just about anything imaginable with feeds, all in a GUI environment

Google FeedBurner: publish feeds you've created for easy use by others, plus provides built-in usage statistics

FriendFeed: combine friends' feeds from common services like Twitter, YouTube and Flickr all in one place

Feed My Inbox: subscribe to any feed and have it forwarded to you as an email

FreeMyFeed: free your feed from authentication or invalid SSL certificates to get them into a reader
