What is it?

A comprehensive online resource designed to help nurses provide better patient care. Nursing Consult includes:

• Books - Thirty leading textbooks covering all aspects of nursing, including specialties like Cardiovascular, Critical Care, Family Health, Maternal/Neonatal, Med/Surg, Oncology, Gerontology, Infusion, and Pediatric nursing
• Journals - Search Nursing Index and MEDLINE for current journal articles, with full text for over 20 nursing journals. Nursing Index provides cover-to-cover indexing of over 2,500 journals, including over 1,300 not included in CINAHL.
• Drugs - Nursing Consult contains complete drug prescribing data, accessed by using an index of generic drugs, brand names, indications, contraindications, and adverse reactions. Other drug information contains:  IV Compatibility Tables and drug updates (e.g., Newest FDA Approvals).
• Patient Handouts - Over 8,000 patient handouts written at the 6th to 8th grade reading level, including Spanish versions for key topics. You can also add your own personal information (e.g., address, office phone, office hours) and patient instructions to each patient handout.
• News - Access to the latest healthcare news relating to nursing selected by the Nursing Consult editorial staff.
• Clinical Updates - Written by nurses for nurses, clinical updates review current thought and accepted wisdom of consequential topics in healthcare.
