WorldCat.org provides access to WorldCat, the world's largest network of library-based content and services. WorldCat.org features:
- Search of collections of local libraries & thousands more worldwide
- Single search box for books, CDs, DVDs, and articles
- Links to MadCat and Library Express
- Direct export of citations to RefWorks & EndNote
- List and bibilography builders

Do I have to go to the WorldCat.org site to search?
Not necessarily! See Search Plugins for the Facebook application, Google Toolbar, and Firefox browser search extensions that allow you to search WorldCat.org without having to go to their site to do so.
Is there a mobile WorldCat.org?
Yes, WorldCat.org currently has a mobile site available as a pilot, as well as an additional "experimental" web interface designed specifically for iPhone/iTouch.
Why would I want a WorldCat.org account?
If you just want to search WorldCat.org, no account is needed. If you want to create lists, bibliographies or reviews, you'll first need to create a free account.
Are there other products like it?
WorldCat FirstSearch, also produced by OCLC, provides similar coverage. WorldCat.org is typically preferred for overall ease of use and offers additional features, including list and bibliography builders, book previews and purchase options, and search plugins.
