Book Sale Moments

Thanks to all who made the Friends of the Health Sciences Library a success. There were some wonderful moments of treasures found, deals made, and books bought. Some highlights.

The UW Hospital physician who found a 1974 translation of the Barefoot Doctor- an important manual in the narrative of the United State’s initials forays into acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. The pharmacy students who were fascinated with purchasing 20 books for less than 1/2 of the price of one new book. The medical students who discovered that Harrison’s Internal Medicine, even in its older editions is a wonderful reference book, and will make a nice decorative statement in their apartment. And, finally, the nursing student who found a fabulous 1866 biography on a nurse who was also a spy for the Union Army. Thank you again for your support-see you next year…
