Rebecca Skloot Will Visit The Health Sciences Campus

During her three day UW campus visit, Rebecca Skloot, author of the 2010-2011 Go Big Read selection, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,”will make a special visit to the Health Sciences Learning Center.

Please join the faculty and students from History of Medicine & Bioethics/History of Science, and the students, faculty and staff from the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and Veterinary Medicine, and staff from the Waisman Center, UW Hospitals & Clinics, American Family Children’s Hospital, and the Institute for Clinical & Translational Research, etc. for a health sciences-centric meeting with Rebecca.

When: 12:00-1:30 on Wednesday, October 27th in Auditorium 1306 in the Health Sciences Learning Center at 750 Highland Ave.
Please note that there will be a class in 1306 immediately preceding the event, so the actual event will start around 12:15, giving students and others a chance to get seated.

The event will consist of having Rebecca say a few words about her experience with the book, then a Q & A from the audience. There may be time for book signing, depending on the scheduled time. Remember too, that her Public Lecture at the Kohl Center on Monday, October 25th, at 7:00, is open to all.
