About

Corpus Callosum is the online arts journal of Ebling Library, in the UW-Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health.

The name comes from the tissue connecting the left and right sides of the brain, long thought to be the logical and creative sides of the brain respectively, speaking to the idea of the marriage of science and art. New research, however, may be upending this current thought. The image used in the design of the journal’s logo comes from Gray’s Anatomy (1918, plate 733).

Corpus Callosum showcases a variety of arts, from the written word to visual arts to multimedia; please note that the art published here does not necessarily represent or reflect the views or opinions of the Ebling Library or the UW-Madison. See our submission guidelines for more information and how to submit.

Ebling Library and the Corpus Callosum team would like to thank the Kern National Network for Caring and Character in Medicine for their generous support.
