Dear Reader,
As the temperatures drop and this corner of the world turns its thoughts to the end of the semester, we present to you the Fall 2023 issue of Corpus Callosum. In it, you will find a bounty of creativity to explore from artists familiar and new, as well as more interviews from current and previously published artists who discuss their practice, inspirations, and give words of encouragement to others engaging in the arts. It is a full and fantastic issue that I hope you will enjoy as much as we have enjoyed putting it together.
With the year drawing to a close, this is a good time to reflect on what Corpus Callosum has accomplished in 2023: we have published two issues rich with art and presented our second event, “Creative Pursuits,” an in-person exhibition of selected visual art from the last four issues. The exhibition showcased 28 pieces of art that have graced Ebling Library’s second and third floor galleries since mid-October and will stay up till December 8, 2023. The show included a heavily attended reception in November, and the glow of the artists and the many people there to support them and engage with their art was an absolute delight. Thank you again to all the artists, attendees, and everyone who helped put the event together. It was a shining reminder of why we do this work and how art can pull community together.
Have a wonderful winter and holiday season!
Warmly,
Lia Vellardita
