Editor’s Note, Spring 2024

Dear Reader,

Spring has arrived with all its signature hallmarks: new growth, longer days, and ever-changing weather patterns. This, too, means that the spring issue of Corpus Callosum is here and in it is a packed slate of music, visual arts, and writings, from both new and returning artists. While we always receive more visual art submissions than any other category—and this issue was no different—I was impressed by how many written works we received and subsequently published, a few so authentic and raw in their telling the truths we often face that I was moved to tears. There are also lighter, breezier pieces of art to balance the heavier ones, and a number of pieces reflect the spring season itself. There is something for all readers in this issue, so dive into these glimmering, creative waters and enjoy.

Before I sign off, I want to note that Corpus Callosum is coming up on its fifth anniversary (our inaugural issue was summer of 2020, as readers may recall). If you haven’t had a chance to look back at the art from almost five years, I highly recommend it—it’s an amazing reminder and testament that our community makes, supports, and needs art.

Till next time,

Lia Vellardita
