Building Map
Entrances
- East Entrance (to Weston Atrium)

Elevators
- Main Bank Elevators, Near Room 1202, off Weston Atrium (2 elevators). The Ebling Library Entrances are on the 2nd and 3rd floor. After taking these elevators, turn right and go North to enter Ebling.
- No key or special access required for Floors 1-4
- Access to basement parking (aka Lot 95) requires Permit and Card Access at all times
Parking & Transportation
- 4 Accessible parking stalls in lot Lot 74, UW-Accessible permit required at all times.
- Closest Madison Metro stops are 2349 (Highland and Marsh) – near Lot 74 and North Entrance, and 2125 (Highland and Observatory) – across Highland Ave from East Entrance.

- Three height adjustable desks are located in Ebling recreational reading space, room 2326.
Reservable Study Rooms and Spaces
- Reservable spaces are managed by Classroom and AV Services. Study rooms can be reserved here: https://iit.med.wisc.edu/room-reservations/
Restrooms
- All Bathrooms have Accessible Stalls and are located on the south side of the building near the elevators. The first floor has an additional set of restrooms near room 1309 and the North Entrance. No restroom is locked or requires special access.
- There are two locking single-occupancy all-gender restrooms in the HSLC. One is located inside the Ebling 2nd-floor entrance in room 2311, and the second is located near the UW Bookstore on the 1st floor in room 1351.
Lactation and Baby Changing Space
- The HSLC has two lactation and special needs spaces in rooms 2120 and 3208C. Temporary access can be arranged by Classroom and AV Services in room 1240: reservations@hslc.wisc.edu or 608-261-1934. Long-term card access can be granted by Student Services in room 2130: 608-263-4920 or studentservices@med.wisc.edu.
Lighting
- Lights are on 24-hours a day, 7 days a week due to special study hall hours for authorized UW-Madison health sciences students, faculty and staff. Upper-floor stacks have motion-detector lighting.
Technology
The Ebling Library Infolab has 32 Windows machines split between both floors. They have the following accessibility software:
- Fusion: Magnification and screen reading software
- JAWS 14.0: Job Access With Speech, screen reader, developed for computer users whose vision loss prevents them from seeing screen content or navigating with a mouse.
- Kurzweil 3000: A comprehensive reading, writing, and learning software solution for any struggling reader, including individuals with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, attention deficit disorder or those who are English Language Learners
- Screen Magnifier: Standard Windows 11 Accessibility Tool.
