Material Donations
Donations of books, artifacts, or particular journal titles may be accepted if the materials fit within the scope of Ebling’s collections.
Special consideration will be given to rare books and older material, especially ephemera like pamphlets, diaries, photographs, and lab notebooks. Some material may be better suited to the University Archives or other institutions. We cannot assess value or provide appraisals for material donations.
Prospective donors are encouraged to consult the catalog to verify that the material is not already held in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries’ collections and to provide an inventory of potential gifts for review by library staff members.
Upon acceptance, the Ebling Library reserves the right to determine materials’ retention, location and other considerations relating to use, maintenance, or removal.
