Are the mortality records you’re looking for long departed? Is the website of infectious disease stats you needed a ghostly memory? If you need to dig up sources of health information from the archival and digital graveyards, this workshop is for you. Join history of health sciences librarian, Hannah Swan, and public health librarian, Susan Vandagriff, as they show you how to resurrect historical health data using archival materials, vital records, the Wayback Machine, and more. No bones about it, these librarians got the workshop date closest to Halloween, and they’re going use this theme to death.
If you require any accessibility accommodations to attend or participate in this event, please let us know by emailing susan.vandagriff@wisc.edu with the subject “Finding Buried Health Data.” Requests for sign-language interpreters, real-time captioning, Braille or electronic documents should be made at least two weeks before the event. We will attempt to fulfill requests made after this date but cannot guarantee they will be met.
