Join History of Health Sciences Librarian Hannah Swan for a hands-on look at research in the history of medicine. We will cover primary source research at UW-Madison (and beyond!) and useful databases and online resources, before finishing with an introduction to handling rare materials using the Ebling Historical Collections. Attendees will have a chance to view rare books, photographs, and ephemera from the collections, as well as the current historical exhibition.
If you require any accessibility accommodations to attend or participate in this event, please let us know by emailing hannah.swan@wisc.edu with the subject “Research Methods in the History of Health Sciences.” Requests for sign-language interpreters, real-time captioning, Braille or electronic documents should be made at least two weeks before the event. We will attempt to fulfill requests made after this date but cannot guarantee they will be met.
Please note: this course is for upper-level undergraduate students and incoming graduate students.
Workshop attendance is limited to 10 participants.
