Ebling Library’s most recent art publication, Corpus Callosum (Spring 2024) is available online. This bountiful issue is rich with deeply layered poems and short stories, forceful drawings, paintings, embroidery, and photographs, and other work from new and returning artists. Includes two fascinating interviews with Ryan McAdams, M.D. and SMPH’s Dian Yao about the role of art in their lives. But the best harbinger might be Corpus’s Managing Editor, Lia Vellardita, whose introduction is worth sharing in its entirety.

Spring has arrived with all its signature hallmarks: new growth, longer days, and ever-changing weather patterns. This, too, means that the spring issue of Corpus Callosum is here and in it is a packed slate of music, visual arts, and writings, from both new and returning artists. While we always receive more visual art submissions than any other category—and this issue was no different—I was impressed by how many written works we received and subsequently published, a few so authentic and raw in their telling the truths we often face that I was moved to tears. There are also lighter, breezier pieces of art to balance the heavier ones, and a number of pieces reflect the spring season itself. There is something for all readers in this issue, so dive into these glimmering, creative waters and enjoy.
