Dr. William Snow Miller was a professor of anatomy, an authority on the lung, and author of a classic text on the subject entitled Lung. He was also devoted to the study of the history of medicine and formed the Wisconsin Medical History Seminar for Medical School faculty members. His interest in the history of medicine led him to become an avid book collector, and following his death in 1939, his collection was purchased by the Medical School. It remains one of our most treasured collections, strong in anatomy and containing several editions of Vesalius.
