Thanks to all those that joined their colleagues or fellow students for the viewing of the Presidential Inauguration. I was going to announce what was going on with the fractured “feed” from CNN, but I didn’t want to interrupt what was going on on stage. We tested the feed before the event, indeed we tried 4 separate feeds, CNN, MSNBC, etc. As it was explained by our AV/IT colleagues; when the entire campus watches something on their computers and lap tops, it overloads the bandwidth-as our building has neither a cable or an antenna, we were at the mercy of that bandwidth. My apologies for any angst this may have caused with this historic event. Please know that it was not inept hosts, but imperfect technology. Hopefully the collective viewing with communal clapping (and love, as poet Elizabeth Alexander suggested) will make up for the flawed presentation.
