PubMed Search results can now be customized in My NCBI

Searchers can now tailor the display of PubMed search results using My NCBI. The current default in PubMed displays multiple items in the Summary format, 20 per page, and sorted by items recently added at the top.
The new options allow users to automatically display items in the Abstract format, view up to 200 per page, or sort by options such as journal, author, title, and more. To make these changes, log in to My NCBI, click on “PubMed Preferences,” then “Result Display Settings,” and select the desired options

You can also now use My NCBI to select up to 15 filters for PubMed. All filters are displayed as links under “Filter your results” on the upper right of your search results. To change your filter selections, log into My NCBI, click on “PubMed Preferences,” then select “PubMed Filters & Icons.”

To create a UW full-text filter:

  1. Select Browse Filters, then LinkOut, then Libraries and click on University of Wisconsin – Madison OR search by the library name.
  2. Check Add as a filter.
  3. To see Find It in emailed search results, also click Add as a link icon.
