UW’s Micromedex Subscription is ending in February 2019. Lexicomp Access will expand!

Both Micromedex and Lexicomp subscriptions offer similar components including drug information, calculators, toxicology, and IV information. The differences are mainly in presentation, not content. Many academic medical centers have moved to one vendor for this reference service for standardization and to save money.
An in-depth analysis and comparison was conducted at UW by a committee that included nurses, providers, and representatives from in IS, Pharmacy, Patient Education, SMPH, Swedish American Health, Community Connect, and Ebling Library.
The resulting decision expands Lexicomp access across the organization while ending the Micromedex subscription effective February 2019.
