Dispatch from the Home Office- Leslie Christensen

Continuation of Leslie’s Dispatch from the Home Office, from Ebling Post. 10-14-2020

I started at Ebling in late July of last year, so this was my first Summer session and I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially under the unusual circumstances we all find ourselves in. I’m happy to say that despite the physical space of the library being closed for most of the Summer, it was a busy, productive time. As a team, Ebling Library staff have been working hard over the last six months to deliver our services remotely. As we’ve moved our instruction online, we’ve worked with faculty and each other to create more options for synchronous and asynchronous learning.

Sure, there have been a few bumps in the road—these mostly involve mundane things like wireless routers, power outages, pets, and background noise during virtual meetings—but generally things have been worked remarkable smoothly. I’m always surprised and grateful how understanding people have been when there are technological—I think it’s because we’re all in the same boat, dealing with the same vagaries of technology. We would love to hear from you—the best way to contact us is via Ask a Librarian if you have questions or need help.
