Coming Soon: A New Look for PubMed

The National Library of Medicine has announced that PubMed is undergoing a redesign of the interface. The goals of PubMed Redesign 2009 are to make PubMed easier to use, simplify the interface, refresh the look, better organize the text on the screen, and promote scientific discovery. NLM anticipates that the redesign will be ready in late summer 2009.

Among the anticipated changes is the replacement of the current tab system with the Advanced Search screen, which combines many features onto a single page. If you haven’t yet used the Advanced Search screen, we recommend that you begin using it soon, as that will soon be your only option for elements such as History and Limits. The Mayo Medical School has provided a brief online tutorial on the Advanced Search (below), and you can always contact your liaison librarian or the Ebling Service Desk with further questions.
