Submit Your Reserves

Dear Faculty,

Ebling reserves is a full featured service that can manage both print and online reserves for your courses.

For print reserves, books are placed behind our service desk at the Ebling library for use by your students; this option is ideal for textbooks. Print reserves can have a checkout period of 2 hours or 3 days. If a copy is not already available in our collection, we can use your personal copy (to be returned at the end of the course) or even purchase one for our collection. Try to get your print reserves in early, as obtaining books can take two weeks or more.

Electronic reserves are posted online via course pages software and accessed by enrolled students via the Academics tab in MyUW or in Learn@UW (if the course is activated by the instructor). Electronic reserves are typically completed in 1-3 business days.

Reserves requests can be dropped off at the service desk of the Ebling library or submitted here.

Our reserves staff will tailor this service to an instructor’s specific needs. We have worked up a reserves course page from only a syllabus, though many instructors prefer to email reserves material as attachments, or sometimes drop it off in hard-copy or burned onto a CDR. Material is typically posted in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
