Important Changes to the NIH Public Access Policy, Spring 2013

Since 2008 the NIH Public Access Policy has required NIH funded authors to show evidence of compliance with the policy by using a PMCID, NIHMSID or exemption statement for citations in NIH applications and progress reports. NIH has announced that starting in spring 2013, they will delay processing of non-competing continuation grant awards if publications arising from that award are not in compliance with the NIH public access policy. The award will not be processed until recipients have demonstrated compliance. It will be critical that all citations in your upcoming progress reports show evidence of compliance with the policy in order to ensure timely continued funding.

Learn more about these changes and to hear a summary on how to ensure that your citations are compliant, join us for any one of these drop-in sessions at:

Where: Ebling Library, HSLC room 3268
