Michael Ward’s one man show, “Obsurd,” speaks to the ability for someone with social and physical challenges to tell his story; to navigate his world (and the world around him) through his artwork. Bold lines, whimsical beasts, careful detail, and Michael’s colorful “narration” fill the Ebling Library’s 3rd floor gallery walls. The show is open to all, whenever Ebling is open.
We are happy to report that since installing the exhibit Michael has met with the curators of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, may collaborate with Lance Owens from Artworking, was mentioned in a piece by Scott Gordon from ArtExtract, and was featured in Hues (July 2014). Michael was also recently interviewed by Deana Wright from WISC/TV3. That show, part of Madison Magazine will aired on Saturday, September 6th at 6:30 pm. Here’s the link. Michael’s piece starts at 1:09 and goes to 5:31.
Come see the show for which one observer exclaimed, “Wow, what a world Michael has created!” Show runs through Tuesday September 16th. For a tour or more information, contact Micaela, msullivan@library.wisc.edu
